<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a measuring instrument or the like capable of shortening a missing measurement time even when measuring a deep point. <P>SOLUTION: A detecting part of a module measures continuously water quality (S101). An operation/control part judges the propriety of the lapse of prescribed time, based on the last cleaning/calibration (S102). When the prescribed time is judged to have lapsed, the operation/control part washes the detecting part (S103), and the operation/control part conducts control to form a calibration vessel in a main body of a measuring part after finishing the washing (S104). When the calibration vessel is formed, a calibration standard liquid is injected into the calibration vessel, and the detecting part is calibrated (S105).
