1291091 Instrument panels DAIMLERBENZ AG 30 Oct 1969 [2 Nov 1968] 53227/69 Heading B7H [Also in Divisions F4 and G2] A motor vehicle instrument panel has an instrument and an operating lever guided in a slot 8 therein with the instrument being illuminated by a lamp 14 and there being light conducting cables 13 to conduct light to a light distributer element 12 arranged behind the slot to illuminate an edge portion thereof. Levers for heating and ventilating 2-5 are arranged one above the other in pairs and are illuminated by cables 13 connected to the light conducting element in the form of a rod housed in a groove (11), Fig. 2 (not shown), of an intermediate piece 10 housed behind the slot and on whose upper and lower surfaces the levers are guided. Each element has a longitudinal groove (17) carrying a trim piece 18 which serves for easier identification of the two slots 8, 9. The brightness of the lamp 14 may be varied by a potentiometer. |
