<p>A microwave generator has at least one resonator with two mutually opposite resonator electrodes which are separated by a spark gap. The spark gap breaks down when a high-voltage is applied. The resonator electrodes are designed in the area of the spark gap such that they result in a two-dimensional or three-dimensional section with a substantially constant, minimum electrode separation.</p>
