<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a passive exercise machine for effectively training the muscle of a user. <P>SOLUTION: In a signal processing part 18, a calculation part 181 calculates the center point of a left foot using the detection results of a plurality of left foot load sensors 160 and 161 and also the center point of a right foot using the detection results of a plurality of right foot load sensors 170 and 171. A control part 180 controls a seat driving part 122 to shake a seat part 120 to measure the displacement of the center point of each foot calculated by the calculation part 181 with respect to the center point of the ideal characteristic of a storage part 182. When the displacement is smaller than a preset determine value (the value of 5% of the distance from the origin to the center point of the ideal characteristic) in both of the left foot and the right foot, both feet are determined to be normally operated. On the other hand, when the displacement is not smaller than the determine value in at least either the left or right foot, it is determined to be abnormally operated.
