The distributor (10) has a support (12) provided with a hooking unit (14) for fixing the distributor to a toilet bowl. An absorbing mass (18) is arranged in a flow of flushing water when the distributor is fixed to the bowl. A distribution tube (24) distributes a product. Distribution openings (28) of the tube deliver the product to the absorbing mass, where the distribution opening is distinct from a filling opening (26). The distribution tube is integrated to the support. An independent claim is also included for a method for distributing a cleaning product in a toilet bowl.
