A method and apparatus for transmitting/receiving a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) failure indication are provided in the present invention. The method includes: the Node B receives enhanced dedicated transport channel payload from the primary carrier, and the Node B fails to decode the enhanced dedicated transport channel payload; the Node B determines whether the condition of transmitting an HARQ failure indication is satisfied, if the determination result is yes, the Node B sets an HARQ failure indication data frame on the primary carrier; the Node B transmits the HARQ failure indication data frame to the serving radio network controller (SRNC) over the transport bearer corresponding to the primary carrier.
