Sauce concentrates and sauce pellets are combined with water and/or a water based liquid to produce a sauce. Preferably, the ingredients used to make the pellet are uncooked. A sauce pellet may comprise 1-10% flour, 0.1-4% fibre such as citrus fibre, 1-10% starch, 0.1%-5% oil or far, 5-50% of a carrier and 5-40% of a bulking agent. The carrier may be tomato paste, tomato puree or tomato juice, water or butter. The bulking agent may be tomato powder or buttermilk powder. The sauce concentrate / pellet may also comprose vegetables, fruit, milk, cream, flavouring, salt, sugar, sweeteners, spices and/or, herbs. |
