An offset printing blanket comprises a fabric support, which does not exceed 0À7 mm. in thickness and may be made up of two layers 1, 2, separated by rubber 3, a compressible rubbercork layer 4 which is at least 0À6 mm thick and contains cork in excess of 70% of the volume of the rubber and a polymer cover from 0À2 mm. to 0À5 mm. thick. Preferably the proportion of the cork is 120% of the rubber content, ranging upward to 180%. The fabric layers may be of regenerated cellulose fibres, the rubber of the rubber-cork mixture and the cover may be butadiene-acrylonitrile polymerizate and glass and/or quartz splinters or balls may be embedded in the cover.</p> |
