The portable data carrier (1) has a data carrier body and a flux detector (20) that is visibly arranged for a user of the data carrier. A coil (30) is arranged below the flux detector, where the magnetic field of the coil leads color changing of the flux detector through current flow. An independent claim is also included for a method for displaying a magnetic field on a data carrier.
