The vacuum pump (1) has a mounting medium which defines a vertical line corresponding to the direction of gravitational force. An outlet plane contains an outlet and is arranged in relation to the direction of gravitational force below a shaft. The outlet plane is designed parallel to a mounting plane. An intersection point plane includes a point achieved during operation of a centrifuge structure, and is designed parallel to the mounting plane.
