1362080 Polyolefin-wax compositions PROCESS WAX & RESIN PRODUCTS (PTY) Ltd 28 April 1972 [29 April 1971] 19944/72 Heading C3P [Also in Divisions C5 and B5] A wax composition comprises a fibrillated mass the individual fibres of which have a plurality of free-ended strands. The mass is produced by subjecting a molten mass of the composition to a current of air. The blown product may then be agitated in a shaker. The composition may be a mixture of a natural or synthetic wax and a polymer, e.g. a polyolefin, for example 70% low density polyethylene and 30% Fischer-Tropsch wax. Other specified waxes are paraffin, microcrystalline, sperm, ceresin and beeswax, and optional additives include aluminium sulphate, polyvinyl acetate, wood rosin, mineral oil, petroleum jelly and pesticides. Uses.-To treat wood chips for the manufacture of particle board, in an amount 0À4-4% by wt. of the chips. Also, for the curtaincoating of fibre-board, as an additive for P.V.C. or rubber, or in the manufacture of candles, ropes, twines or wax cloths. |
