The heating assembly (1) has a heating unit (3) that includes heating element (2) and open-pored metal foam (4), a fluid inlet, and a fluid outlet. The metal foam is arranged between fluid inlet and fluid outlet such that fluid (F) flowing in through fluid input is laminarized by metal foam and is output through fluid output. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) spray drier; and (2) method for simultaneously heating and laminarizing drying gas in spray drier.
