PURPOSE: An ultrasound system and an impedance matching method thereof are provided to improve the performance of an ultrasound system by matching impedance according to a medium or the property of a system and probe. CONSTITUTION: A pulse generating device(10) generates a transmission pulse for checkup or treatment according to a medium. The pulse generating device comprises a pulse generating section(11), a pulse generation controlling section(12), and a pulse information database(13). An impedance matching device(20) is located between a probe(30) and elements of an ultrasound system except for the probe. The impedance matching device comprises a matching device array section(21), an extracting section(24), an output section(25), and an array control section(26). The probe transmits an ultrasound to the medium and receives an echo signal reception from the medium. The probe includes a transducer interconverting an ultrasonic signal and an electric signal.
