摘要 <p>1297747 Anti-theft devices NISSAN MOTOR CO Ltd and KANTO SEIKI CO Ltd 5 May 1971 [12 May 1970] 13116/71 Heading B7J [Also in Division E2] A combination ignition control and steering lock device comprises : a key cylinder 10 which is rotatable by an ignition key 11 when the ignition key is inserted thereinto, the key cylinder being operatively connected to an ignition switch (not shown), a housing 12 accommodating the key cylinder; a frame structure 14 in which the housing is securely disposed; a bolt (not shown) for locking a steering column when the key is withdrawn from the key cylinder in a locking position of the key cylinder; and retaining means 16 which retain the key in the lock cylinder when the key is inserted into the key cylinder and the key cylinder is rotated, the retaining means being rotated by the key when the key is rotated to rotate the key cylinder to either one of two positions, namely, an operating position in which, in use, the ignition switch is in position to turn on the ignition and a further position in which, in use, the ignition switch is also in position to energize the engine starter motor, and being left in situ when the key is rotated in a reverse direction to rotate the key cylinder from either one of said two positions, the retaining means being manually rotatable in the reverse direction to a position in which the key can be withdrawn from the key cylinder when the key has been rotated to rotate the key cylinder to its locking position. In the construction shown the retaining means consists of an outer annular member 16a which is rotatably mounted on the front end portion of the frame structure and an inner disc member 16b substantially concentric with the annular member and connected to it by members 16c, 16d, the disc member has an opening 16e through which the key can pass and extending from an opening in a recess 16g for receiving the non-serrated edge 11b of the key as it is inserted into the cylinder; the key has a notch 11c which becomes aligned with the disc and when the key is fully inserted enabling the key to rotate the cylinder from the lock position which the cylinder must occupy when the key is inserted, through an off position in which the steering is unlocked but the switch is not operated to an accessory position in which accessories such as the radio are switched on but the ignition is off; when the key is rotated beyond the accessory position its edge 11b engages a land 16b formed on a surface of the disc member 16b so that the retaining means 16 is rotated by the key together with the cylinder, and the cylinder is moved through the ignitionon position to the starting position, the retaining means being left in the starting position when the key is moved in the opposite direction to return the cylinder to the ignition-on position-; since the inner edge portion of the disc around its opening is disposed in the notch 11c in the key the key cannot be withdrawn from the cylinder as soon as it has been rotated from the lock position; in addition of course in any position except the lock position the usual pin tumblers of the device also prevent withdrawal of the key. To withdraw the key it is necessary to rotate the key back to the lock position which puts the tumblers in the position in which the key can be withdrawn and also to rotate the retaining means manually to the position in which the recess 16 is aligned with the edge 11b of the key since until this has been done the key cannot be withdrawn. A ball catch 18 biased by a spring 19 retains the retaining means in the position in which it is moved by the key. The disc member of the retaining means is concealed by a cap member 17 which is secured to the housing 12.</p>
