The plated steel plate for a cell can provides stable and good electrical contact on an outer surface of the cell can, and the evolution of gas within a battery can be suppressed by reducing damage to a plated surface of the steel plate when the cell can is formed by drawing press. In this manner, it is possible to provide a battery and an alkaline dry battery that can realize stable electrical contact with devices and reduce the evolution of gas.
