TOUCH SCREEN APPARATUS FOR BLIND PERSON AND METHOD FOR INPUTTING CHARACTERS IN THE APPARATUS

PURPOSE: A touch screen apparatus and a character inputting method thereof are provided to enable the visually disabled person to input a character by using an input method in a Braille system. CONSTITUTION: A touch sensing unit(120) determines touch position and duration. If touch by three touch pointers is sensed, a Braille input initializing unit(130) determines ranges of coordinates corresponding to the touch position. The Braille input initializing unit initializes Braille input by deciding a touch area of the touch pointers. IF multi-touch is sense, a Braille recognizing unit(140) recognizes Braille input based on touch position and duration of multi-touch.
