PURPOSE: A device for winding an emergency ladder is provided to minimize physical and property damages by enabling people to escape rapidly by reducing the speed of an emergency ladder rapidly and safely. CONSTITUTION: A device for winding an emergency ladder comprises a drum, a wire(200), a latch wheel, a latch lever(400), a frictional piece, and a casing(600). The drum comprises a blade, a frictional surface, and a reinforcing unit. The frictional surface supports a frictional piece. The reinforcing unit reinforces the blade. The drum winds or unwinds a rope. One side of the wire is wound on the central part of the blade and the other side of the wire is fixed to the lower end of an extendable ladder. The latch wheel is arranged on the end of the blade and restricts the rotation of the drum.
