The photosensitive detector (14) receives the amplitude modulated electromagnetic radiation (26) generated by the luminescence of the luminescent medium (16) and generates one or more output signals, at least one of the output signals indicating the intensity of the received electromagnetic radiation (26). The processor (18) receives the output signals and determines information related to one or more gaseous analytes in the body of gas.
