FIELD: information technologies. ^ SUBSTANCE: method of draft printing by conversion of bit images into drafts providing for performance of the following operations: a colour or a halftone bit image is extracted from a printing job or from a data flow in the page description language; the bit image is converted into a colour or a halftone draft; the printing job or the data flow in the page description language is modified by replacement of the bit image with the appropriate draft; the modified printing job or data flow in the page description language is printed. In the additional version operations are also provided, during which the percentage of consumable material saving is assessed, and information is provided to the user on percentage of consumable material saving. ^ EFFECT: development of the draft printing method with reduced number of printed image points, which still remain recognizable. ^ 18 cl, 7 dwg |
