PURPOSE: A variable clock control video display system and a memory clock modification method are provided to prevent distortion of a display screen by changing a memory operation clock synchronized to non-data section timing. CONSTITUTION: A memory(200) comprises a frame buffer. Frame buffer data is stored in the frame buffer. A display device(300) displays a screen with respect to the frame buffer data. A memory controller(110) manages data input-output processes of the memory. The memory controller controls change of an operation clock of the memory. A display controller(120) converts the frame buffer data into a display signal. A display signal detection part(400) detects non-data section timing from the display signal.
