The device has a fixing unit fixing a child safety seat (1) to a seat (2) in a vehicle in Group-0 type utilization position or Group-1 type utilization position. The fixing unit comprises front locks (11a, 11b) arranged at ends of retractable front rods (12a, 12b) slidably mounted in a lower part of a base (4) such that the locks are projected outside a front portion (4b) of the base, where sliding of rear rods and the front rods allows the rods to occupy an extracted position allowing attachment of the seat and an active retracted position permitting retaining of the seat.
