A scroll machining method by which a tool (14) mounted on a spindle is relatively moved to a workpiece (W) mounted on a rotating table (17) to form a scroll-like wall section (21) on the surface of the workpiece (W) includes a first scroll machining step for relatively moving the tool (14) from the outside toward central section (25) of the workpiece (W) through a predetermined path (L1) while rotating the rotating table (17) in a first direction (R1), and machining one of an outer wall surface (23) or inner wall surface (22) of the wall section (21), and a second scroll machining step for relatively moving the tool (14) from the central section (25) toward outside of the workpiece (W) back along the predetermined path (L1) while rotating the rotating table (17) in a second direction (R2) opposite from the first direction (R1), and machining the other of the outer wall surface (23) or inner wall surface (22) of the wall section (21).
