The method involves connecting a flushing device (20) with an inlet (11) over a feed line (13). The flushing device is connected with an outlet (12) over a return-flow pipe (14), where the inlet and the outlet are arranged at a container (10) i.e. heat exchanger. The container is flushed with fluid e.g. acetic acid, that is fed from the flushing device over the feed line and guided to the flushing device over the outlet and the pipe via the container. The fluid is accommodated to an inner wall of the container when fluid flows through container, where the fluid is removed from the container. The fluid is selected from hot water, acidic solution, neutral solution, basic solution, acetic acid, acidic cleaner, neutral cleaner, basic cleaner, cleaner with corrosion protection and/or detergent.
