<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image heating member in which a heat generator is provided to a heating member itself and the heat generator is energized to make the heating member directly generate heat, to provide an image heating apparatus using the image heating member, and to secure the durability of a power supply section thereof. <P>SOLUTION: A rotatable image heating member 12 pressing against a pressure member 18 to form a nip part N for heating an image t on a recording material includes: a heat generation layer 12b disposed at a position inside an end of the nip part with respect to a rotational axis direction of the image heating member and generating heat by electric power supply thereto; a power supply layer 12e provided at an end of the heat generation layer and electrically connected with the heat generation layer to supply power to the heat generation layer; an elastic layer 12c arranged at a position inside an end of the nip part with respect to the rotational axis direction of the image heating member, and disposed on an upper layer above the heat generation layer; and a surface layer 12d provided on an upper layer above the elastic layer and extending to the outside of the end of the nip part so as to cover a part of the power supply layer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
