SEMICONDUCTOR ELEMENT FOR CURRENT CONTROL AND CONTROL DEVICE USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor element for current control capable of highly accurate current detection in a single-chip IC by dynamically compensating for variations of a gain a and an offset b, and a control device using this element.

SOLUTION: A semiconductor element has a transistor 4, a current-voltage converting circuit 22 and an AD converter 23 on the same semiconductor chip; a reference current generating circuit 6 varies a digital voltage value outputted by the AD converter by superposing a current pulse Ic over the current of a load 2; a gain offset correcting unit 8 dynamically acquires a gain a and an offset b in a linear relation formula between the digital voltage value outputted by the AD converter 23 and a digital current value of the load by subjecting variations in the digital voltage value caused by the reference current generating circuit 6 to signal processing; and a digital current value calculating unit 12 corrects the voltage value outputted by the AD converter by using the gain and the offset acquired by the gain offset correcting unit 8.
