<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a permanent magnet type rotary electric machine capable of eliminating magnetic resistance caused by a gap due to adhesive, improving average output torque, and suppressing generation of torque ripple as compared to a cylindrical yoke. <P>SOLUTION: The permanent magnet type rotary electric machine includes an armature and a field system provided on the outer periphery side of the armature through a gap. The field system includes permanent magnets corresponding to the number of poles and yokes arranged on the outer periphery of the permanent magnet.
