<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve contrast of an IPS liquid crystal display device and to cancel difference of hue between color viewed from a front direction and the color viewed from an oblique direction in an IPS mode liquid crystal display device. <P>SOLUTION: An optical polymer film characterized in 0≤Re(630)≤10, 5≤Rth(630)≤30, and -15≤Rth(λ)≤33 over an entire light wavelength range of 480 to 750 nm is used for a liquid crystal display device.
