<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a specimen processing device capable of detecting a specimen container having a raised bottom and a concave part outside the bottom and performing appropriate specimen processing while having a simple construction and reducing a burden of a user. <P>SOLUTION: The specimen processing device is capable of sucking a specimen from a first type of specimen container 101 having a concave part 80 on the outside of its bottom and from a second type of specimen container 101 not having the same concave part. It has: a specimen processing part for processing a specimen held in the specimen container; a concave part detection part for detecting the concave part of the specimen container; and a control part for controlling the specimen processing part in such a manner that if the specimen is sucked from the specimen container from which the concave part is not detected by the concave detection part, the specimen is processed in a first specimen processing condition, and if the specimen is sucked from the specimen container from which the concave part is detected by the concave detection part, the specimen is processed in a second specimen processing condition, which is different from the first specimen processing condition. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
