<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an actuator containing a novel magnetic circuit capable of coping with such case as various design requirements are posed by reducing a constraint caused by a magnetic circuit for moving a movable piece. <P>SOLUTION: An actuator 1 includes a movable piece 2 which is related to a work, for moving, and a magnetic circuit mc which causes an electromagnetic force to be acted on the movable piece 2 to move the movable piece 2. The magnetic circuit mc is composed of components including a stator core 10 which has a C-like or U-like cross section, with its end faces 10a facing each other, a coil 11 wound on the stator core 10, and an iron core 2c which is arranged between the end faces 10a of the stator core 10, to constitute the movable piece 2. The components other than the iron core 2c constituting the movable piece 2 are so arranged as to release the movable piece 2 in at least three directions (X1 direction, X2 direction, and Z1 direction) orthogonal to the orientation of the magnetic flux generated between the end faces 10a of the stator core 10. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
