<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display sheet in which an air layer does not remain between a housing portion (for particles) and a hard substrate even when the sheet is laminated with the hard substrate, and to provide a method for manufacturing a display device. <P>SOLUTION: The display sheet 21 includes a hard substrate 100 and a display layer 400 including a plurality of housing portions 40 housing electrophoretic particles 5. The display layer 400 has a plurality of recesses 42 opening to one surface of the layer, and each recess 42 is opened directly or via another recess 42 to a side face of the display layer 400.
