<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a vehicle park in parallel to white lines of both sides of a parking frame and at the center of the white lines of both sides of the parking frame by using a cutback support in a parking support device and a parking support method. <P>SOLUTION: When the vehicle rear end (1B) is determined within a parking frame (3) based on the distance between the front ends (4F, 5F) of the white lines (4, 5) of the parking frame (3) detected by a white line end detector (10D) and the vehicle rear end (1B), a controller (10) once carries out direct advancing and turning of the vehicle (1), based on the inclination computed by an inclination calculator (10B) and a shift computed by a shift calculator (10C), and guides the vehicle (1) by a guide unit (11) to carry out direct advancing and turning to the parkable position within the parking frame (3) so that the centerline (CL) of the white lines (4, 5) of both sides of the parking frame (3) may be in agreement with the centerline (G) of the vehicle cross direction, when the vehicle (1) is carried out direct advancing and retreating. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
