<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic disk capable of achieving high recording density without reference to a reproduction system, in regard to the magnetic disk in which tracks are formed by magnetic thin lines as data recording areas. <P>SOLUTION: A magnetic disk includes magnetic thin lines 5 concentrically arranged on a substrate, each of the magnetic thin lines 5 being formed by ion implantation of low Ms areas 5e where saturation magnetization is relatively low. Data of "0" or "1" is continuously recorded on the magnetic thin line 5, and the area on which the data is recorded is discontinuously shifted as a magnetic domain in the magnetic thin line 5 by a pulse current supplied from electrodes 61, 62 connected to both ends of the magnetic thin line 5. The magnetic domain elongates when it reaches the low Ms area 5e. Consequently, a reproducing area 5r is prepared in the low Ms area 5e and the data can be enlarged to the size of the magnetic domain detectable magnetism by a laser spot of incident radiation or a magnetic head 21 and reproduced, and the data can be compressed and stored in the magnetic domain having a length of Lb outside the low Ms area 5e of the magnetic thin line 5. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
