摘要 Provided is a scanning molecule counting method by optical measurement using a confocal microscope or multiphoton microscope, the method enabling characterization of a single light-emitting particle or identification of the light-emitting particle by using the light emission intensity of the light-emitting particle being individually measured. This optical analysis technique is adapted such that in a sample solution which contains a light-emitting particle having at least two light-emitting portions of mutually different light emission wavelengths, optical signals occurring at the same time from each of the light-emitting portions are measured, while the position of a photodetection region of an optical system is being moved by changing the optical path of the optical system, to reference the ratio between the intensities of the signals, thereby identifying the single light-emitting particle corresponding to the signals to distinguish the type, size, and the like of the light-emitting particle.
