<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To excellently inhibit heat dissipation from a terminal plate to prevent fuel cells, especially at the ends of the lamination, from decreasing in power generating capacity to the extent possible. <P>SOLUTION: In a fuel cell stack 10, a plurality of fuel cells 12 is laminated, and a terminal plate 14a, an insulation plate 16a, and an end plate 18a are disposed at one end of the lamination of the fuel cells 12. The terminal plate 14a contains a single internal cavity 52a. The cavity 52a extends through the terminal plate 14a from one end to the other end of the terminal plate 14a facing each other.
