<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent, in an IPS type liquid crystal display device in which a counter electrode is formed all over in a planar shape and a comb-shaped pixel electrode is formed via an inter-layer insulating film, the counter electrode and the inter-layer insulating film formed over the counter electrode from separating from each other. <P>SOLUTION: A counter electrode 108 is formed all over in a planar shape over an organic passivation film 107; before forming an inter-layer insulating film 109 over the counter electrode 108, plasma ashing is performed; plasma ashing causes the surface of the organic passivation film 107 to be shaved off to form section A, which is an overhanging section; as the surface of the counter electrode 108 is also roughed along with the shaving of the surface off the organic passivation film 107 by the plasma ashing, the contact area of the inter-layer insulating film 109 with the organic passivation film 107 or the counter electrode 108 expands, resulting in an increase in adhesive force; and, as any remaining resist over the counter electrode 108 is also removed by the plasma ashing, the adhesive force of the inter-layer insulating film 109 increases. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
