<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate allocating operation of a commodity code to a preset key and reduce the operation time. <P>SOLUTION: A commodity code input device in the embodiment comprises a display part having a touch panel, key specifying means, code reading means and setting means. The display part displays an operation key for inputting a commodity code. The key specifying means receives a specification of an operation key to be set from the display part. The code reading means reads the commodity code from a code symbol.
