[Problem] To provide a shaft sealing device configured in such a manner that, in order to prevent the movement of a seal lip and to enable the sealing performance to be reliably maintained, an adaptor is shaped so that the adaptor can be easily pushed in, is unlikely to come out, and has a large width in the radial direction. [Solution] A shaft sealing device characterized in that the outer peripheral flange of an adaptor, which is fitted in a cartridge at a position on the side of a first lip seal member which faces the sealed fluid, is tapered and reduced in diameter toward a web and that the web comprises an outer peripheral portion which is in an orthogonal plane perpendicular to the axis and a tapered inner peripheral portion which tilts toward the sealed fluid. |
