<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a personal computer anti-theft system capable of using the same setting regardless of an installation place of a personal computer body, and preventing information stored in a recording medium such as a hard disk installed in the personal computer body from leaking by using positional relations with peripheral devices when the personal computer body is stolen. <P>SOLUTION: A mouse device 1 and a personal computer body 2 are equipped with a GPS function. A positional information of the mouse device 1 is transmitted from the mouse device 1 to the personal computer body 2. A separation distance between the mouse device 1 and the personal computer body 2 is calculated from their positional information. When the separation distance becomes equal to or more than a predetermined permissible separation distance, operation of a hard disk 3 installed in the personal computer body 2 is locked.
