TERMINAL FITTING, WIRE WITH TERMINAL FITTING, CHAIN TERMINAL, AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE WIRE WITH THE TERMINAL FITTING

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a terminal fitting, a wire with the terminal fitting, a chain terminal, and a method for manufacturing the wire with the terminal fitting, which have excellent waterproofness.

SOLUTION: A wire with a terminal fitting 10 includes a wire 11 formed by coating an outer periphery of a core wire 13 with an insulation coat 14 and a female terminal fitting 12. The female terminal fitting 12 includes: a wire barrel 17 having a bottom plate 15 on which the core wire 13 is placed and crimped to the core wire 13; and a groove 19 which is formed so as to extend from the bottom plate 15 in a direction that the core wire 13 extends and has a surface on the core wire 13 side bent so as to form a recessed part. The groove 19 has a waterproof wall 22 which is formed by molding a synthetic resin material and fills the groove 19. An area ranging from the waterproof wall 22 to an end part of the insulation coat 14 is covered with a waterproof coat 25, and an inner surface of the waterproof coat 25 closely contacts with the waterproof wall 22.
