PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a servo signal-written magnetic tape manufacturing method capable of obtaining a unipolar pulse.

SOLUTION: A manufacturing method of a vertical magnetic recording magnetic tape MT written a servo signal by a writing head 30 having a magnetic gap G, which includes a vertical direct-current demagnetization process (b) magnetizing the magnetic tape MT in one-way in a thickness direction and a signal writing process (c) writing the servo signal into the magnetic tape MT by outputting a pulse signal to the writing head 30 after the vertical direct-current demagnetization process.
