<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat storage device having a heat storage material the temperature of which can be increased in a short time, and to provide an air conditioner employing the heat storage device. <P>SOLUTION: The heat storage device is arranged to surround a substantially cylindrical compressor 6. The device houses the heat storage mateiral 36 for storing heat generated at the compressor 6, and a heat storage exchanger 34 for acquiring the stored heat. The device also has a heat transfer surface 52a contacted with the compressor for acquiring heat generated at the compressor, and includes a plurality of heat storage tanks 32 where a cenral angle for the heat transfer surface when viewed from the center of the compressor is within 180 degrees. Accordingly, this arrangement ensures the adhesion between the compressor and the heat transfer surface of the heat storage tank, and also secures a sufficiently large area of heat transfer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
