<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for making a shield machine pass to an underground structure, which can withstand earth and water pressure to the underground structure even when a segment made of an inexpensive plain concrete is used and easily make the shield machine pass to the underground structure without welding or removing the underground structure. <P>SOLUTION: A reinforcement member 19 is repeatedly towed and cut. Towing of the reinforcement member 19 is stopped just before the reinforcement member 19 comes off a shield passing portion 5 and a water-blocking packer 17b because if the reinforcement member 19 comes off the water-blocking packer 17b, muddy water 73 within an entrance room 69 leaks from the water-blocking packer 17b into a shield tunnel 1. In the state described above, the reinforcement member 19 is connected with the water-blocking packer 17b. A wire 75 is removed from the reinforcement member 19.
