<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hood which is reliably attached to a distal end of an endoscope without causing a positional deviation. <P>SOLUTION: A hood body 50a is attached to the distal end portion 16a of the electronic endoscope. A specific wavelength cut filter 51 cutting or dimming a light of specific wavelength out of the light reflected from a body cavity is provided on a portion covering the observation window 42 in the hood body 50a. The hood body 50a has a forceps exit opening portion 54 for exhibiting a forceps exit 45 of the distal end portion 16a in the body cavity. A substantially cylindrical fit-in portion 55 to be fitted into a forceps channel 19 through the forceps exit 45 is provided in the inside from the forceps exit opening portion 54.
