摘要 <p>The method involves measuring a road surface (21) in an environment of a motor car (23) by an environment sensor system (24). A pothole (26) arising in a road surface is determined from the measurement data of the environment sensor system. An avoidance trajectory is determined, where a wheel contact with the determined pothole is avoided when predicted trajectory of the motor car leads to a wheel contact with the pothole. The travel direction is measured before the motor car lying on the road surface by the environment sensor system. An independent claim is also included for a pothole assisting device comprising a determination unit.</p>
