The device has an elongate element i.e. resilient rope (1), accommodating a load bar (5). A link assembly releasably connects two portions of the elongate element such that one portion of the elongate element is formed as a sphere (2) of the assembly and another portion of the elongate element is formed as a loop of the assembly. The sphere engages with the loop, and the elongate element engages around the bar in a closed state of the assembly. The elongate element is laid on a flat base, and comprises a holding element i.e. clip (4), for supporting an object in an open state of the assembly.
