<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a font conversion device and method which are capable of displaying a character string in good balance without biasing the character string. <P>SOLUTION: A character code (monospace font) is transmitted from a host device 110 of a private branch exchange system to a telephone set. On the side of an LCD display device 111 of the telephone set, the number of dots of a total width of character groups in one line, which is obtained by converting the character code transmitted with the monospace font from the host device to a proportional font, is calculated, and the number of space characters included in the character groups is calculated from the character code transmitted with the monospace font. The number of dots to be assigned to each entire space character is calculated on the basis of the number of space characters, the number of total dots of character groups, and the number of dots capable of being displayed in one line, and the number of dots of each space character is set. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
