<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel compound exhibiting a COMT prohibiting action. <P>SOLUTION: There are disclosed a compound represented by formula (I) (in the formula, R<SP POS="POST">1</SP>and R<SP POS="POST">2</SP>each represent hydrogen, a lower acyl, a lower alkoxycarbonyl or the like; R<SP POS="POST">3</SP>represents an aryl group that may be substituted, or a heteroaryl group that may be substituted; and R<SP POS="POST">4</SP>represents halogen, lower haloalkyl, lower acyl, arylcarbonyl that may be substituted, lower alkoxycarbonyl, or the like), a pharmacologically acceptable salt thereof, a pharmaceutical composition comprising the same, and uses therefor.
