<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a beverage cartridge that allows for easier and more mess-free separation, and offers a single-serve. <P>SOLUTION: A method, system and cartridge for producing a beverage includes a cartridge 10 having a container 12 defining an interior space, a lid 38, a filter 30, and a beverage medium 20 contained in the interior space. The filter may be attached to the lid only, and extends into the interior space to separate a first chamber 14a and a second chamber 14b of the cartridge.
