In a case where an inverter (3) is used to convert a DC power from a DC power supply (1) to an AC power that is to be supplied to an AC motor (4), a power compensator apparatus (5) is connected in parallel to the DC power input part of the inverter (3). When the power demand for the AC motor (4) is greater than a predetermined value, a control apparatus (16) of the power compensator apparatus (5) performs the charging/discharging from a battery apparatus (15), thereby implementing power compensation (A). If the power compensation (A) is unnecessary, the control apparatus (16) implements a battery adjustment (B) to perform the supplementary charging of the battery apparatus (15) within an allowance of power to be output from the DC power supply (1) and input to the battery apparatus (15) with the allowance of power being taken into account by the control apparatus (16).
