The machine (10) has a running wheel (22) rotatably accommodated in a housing (20) and driven by an electric motor. Medium i.e. gas, guided to an aggregate i.e. fuel cell, of a motor vehicle flows against the running wheel. A heating device (32) is partially arranged in the running wheel that is heated by the heating device. The heating device includes an induction coil (34) for heating the running wheel, and comprises a soft magnetic element (36) cooperating with the induction coil that is operated with alternating current. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a fluid-flow machine of an aggregate of a motor vehicle.
